SAVING THE PIVON MONASTERY – AURELIUS ASSOCIATION

Dear Friends,
On behalf of the team involved with the project, allow me, please, to address you this way and kindly ask you to help children and aged people together with helping to save a unique historical and cultural landmark, a former Augustinian monastery in the town of Pivon located close to Domazlice (Taus) in Southern Bohemia. After a thorough renovation, the former monastery is to be used as a medical institution for children, asylum center for kids coming from places and regions struck by wars or natural disasters. A spacious and comfortable senior home is to be built there in order to provide a place to live for aged people who need assistance in their daily lives as well as a place of refuge for children who very often lost their homes and families.

One part of the former monastery will be reserved for a library and an archive. Both will be focused on history, presence and future of co-existence of the peoples, ethnics and religions of Europe. Seminars, lectures and various conventions will be organized there as well as exhibitions, concerts and other cultural and social events.

The renovated premises will also include playgrounds for children, workshops, galleries of paintings and photographs, a meditation garden and other rooms dedicated to art, relaxation, physiotherapy and treatment.

Help us to save a unique historical and cultural landmark and change it from an empty and deteriorating estate to a place of relaxation, beauty and joy.

Thank you for your willingness to help those who are less fortunate and who cannot get along without your generosity.
